Air Cargo World Crowns the Top Cargo Airlines and Airports with 2019 Air Cargo Excellence Awards

NEW YORK, NY (April 3, 2019) –Air Cargo World has announced the winners of the 2019 Air Cargo Excellence (ACE) Awards this morning live via Twitter.

Emirates Airlines is the top cargo airline in the world for 2019; Shanghai Pudong Airport is the top cargo airport.

The annual awards are based on the Air Cargo Excellence Survey, which surveys more than 1,700 market participants to determine the top cargo carriers and airports in the world. The awards, established in 2005 by Air Cargo World, are presented annually to the airlines and airports achieving the highest scores in the survey based on several performance factors.

Among the other 2019 winners receiving certifications of merit were Qatar Airways, Delta Air Lines, Hong Kong International, Mariscal Sucre International and more: (See the full list of winners below.)

Among air carriers, Diamond, Platinum and Gold status are awarded to the top performers – based on a composite score of Customer Service, Performance and Value – in each of two tonnage categories.

Among airports, Diamond, Platinum and Gold status was awarded to the top three performers – based on a composite score of Performance, Value and Facilities – in each of three tonnage categories.

1 million or more tonnes category:

  •        Singapore Changi, SIN, Gold Award


400,000 to 999,999 tonnes category:

  •       Mariscal Sucre International, UIO, Diamond Award
  •        Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta, ATL, Platinum Award
  •        Luxembourg (Findel), LUX, Gold Award


Up to 399,999 tonnes category:

  •         José Joaquín de Olmedo, GYE, Diamond Award  
  •        Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County, DTW, Platinum Award  


Air Carrier winners included:

1 million or more tonnes category:

  •         Emirates Airlines, Diamond Award
  •         Qatar Airways, Platinum Award
  •         Singapore Airlines, Gold Award


Up to 999,999 tonnes air carrier category:

  •         Delta Air Lines, Diamond Award
  •         AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Platinum Award
  •         Etihad Airways, Gold Award


Specialty Cargo winners included:

  •         Air Carriers – AirBridgeCargo Airlines
  •         Airports – Mariscal Sucre, UIO


Our Specialty Cargo award is presented to the highest-scoring air carrier and airport for capabilities in shipping perishables, dangerous goods, pharma, animals and oddly shaped cargo.
