James Edgar
Jim Edgar has been associated with the air transportation industry for over 50 years. Both commercial and military experience in various passenger and cargo positions are included.
Jim attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Air Force and supported two presidents while assigned to ‘Air Force One’ in Washington, D.C. During his five years of military service, Jim also managed passenger and cargo terminals in the U.S. and Middle East. Three years were spent with a regional carrier and four years with American Airlines.
Born in San Francisco, Jim grew up in Southern California. He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Rutgers and has an M.B.A. in International Business from the University of Washington. Jim retired from Boeing after more than 30 years and was in his last position as Regional Director of Cargo Marketing for nearly 25 of those. In that capacity he was also on the Board of Directors of “The International Air Cargo Association” and Chair of its ‘Education & Research Committee.’
Since retiring two years ago, Jim does frequent guest lectures for business departments at universities in the Midwest and on the West Coast as well as serves as an industry consultant and on boards of educational organizations and charitable institutions. Jim is married with a grown son and daughter as well as three young grandchildren.
