Air Cargo Airports is the first media outlet focused solely on airport cargo facilities and their role in supply chain

NEW YORK, NY (January 16, 2019) — Royal Media, the publisher of Air Cargo World and Cargo Facts, today has launched Air Cargo Airports, a new media venture to cover the news and trends crucial to the airfreight operations at airports.

Airport cargo facilities play a major role in the supply chain and with growing e-commerce demand, the need for expansion and development of these facilities has become more critical. Air Cargo Airports is the media brand that explores these emerging opportunities to provide airport stakeholders with insightful information and in-depth coverage to position them for success.

The world’s airports accommodated more than 118.6 million metric tonnes of cargo in 2017, a 7.7% annual increase, according to the Airports Council International. There are more than 17,000 commercial airports in the world that receive airliners, cargo and business aircraft.

As the first news site to solely focus on this sector, Air Cargo Airports is uniquely positioned to track the changes to traditional supply chains that are putting airports — of all sizes — on shipper routes. The coverage at Air Cargo Airports will focus on capacity issues, route selection, security and customs clearance, warehousing, and more.

“We are very excited to be launching this new venture as it is a natural evolution in our brands serving the air cargo industry,” said JJ Hornblass, CEO & Publisher of Royal Media. “We are witnessing an era of unprecedented growth in e-commerce that is changing the way that cargo moves, and we are excited to continue to grow and evolve our brands as these changes transform the industry.”

Air Cargo Airports will serve an audience of executives from airports, air carriers, freight forwarders, ground handlers, equipment providers, and 3PLs. Recent coverage on the site has explored overall air cargo demand; the capacity crunch at airports worldwide; the implementation of Hermes 5 at LUX; and FedEx’s plans to modernize and expand hubs at MEM, IND.
